About Me

I am the mother of a child whose academic career was greatly influenced by a caring and talented tutor. I am an elementary school teacher with six years of experience in second through fifth grades and two years of substitute teaching. I have spent the last four years at Lumpkin County Elementary School, resigning this spring to devote more time to our family business.

Currently I own and operate Cedar House Inn, a bed and breakfast inn located north of Dahlonega, with my husband Fred.

I am also an English tutor at a local university.

As a teacher, I saw many students who could benefit from one-on-one academic help outside the classroom. I personally tutored several students after school free of charge. Though my current situation does not allow me that luxury, I have decided to offer my services as a tutor in the Lumpkin County area with specialization in reading, writing, and math

I have a B.A. in Christian Education from Pfeiffer University in North Carolina. I completed post baccalaureate work in elementary education with a specialization in reading/ language arts at Texas Woman's University to fulfill teacher certification requirements. I am certified pre-K through eighth grade in Texas, Florida, and Georgia.
